Cristy
Cristy practices primarily in the areas of estate planning, probate, guardianship and conservatorships. Her estate planning practice includes both simple and tax-planned estates, and she has expertise in estate planning for unmarried couples. Cristy handles contested guardianship, conservatorship and probate matters, as well as basic administration of estates and trust administration. She regularly assists owners of closely-held businesses in matters of succession planning.

Cristy has represented a number of non-profit corporations and assists clients with establishing planned gifts with the client’s favorite charities.

Cristy was born in Osmond, Nebraska. She spent her early childhood traveling with her military family, who settled back in Nebraska when Cristy was in grade school. Cristy attended Marian High School in Omaha, Nebraska, and then went to Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas, where she graduated with her B. S. in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting in 1993 and she graduated from Creighton University School of Law, J.D. cum laude, in 1997, and was admitted to the New Mexico Bar in 1997. Cristy is AV Rated with Martindale-Hubbell.

Cristy was elected as the Bernalillo County Probate Judge beginning in January 1, 2019 and will serve in this role along, with maintaining her legal practice.
